Steve Lindsay's tip: The metal base is leather
lined. From one engraver to another some like and engrave
ball to stay in place with good grip when it is tilted and others
like to tilt the vise around about as much as rotating it and so
they like less grip. The vises are shipped with the amount
of grip Steve prefers smooth move but with some grip to stay in
place. If you prefer a ball vise with less grip then
you can rub a little cornstarch on the leather. In this way
the amount of grip can be adjusted. If you get it with
less grip than you were wanting you can give it more grip again by
sticking tape on the leather and pulling it up in order to clean
some of the cornstarch off.
Wrenches for PalmControl Vises, and Small

Self-holding t-wrench, pat. pend. is small enough that it can be
left in place while engraving, so no more looking for the wrench.
Or it can be removed. Hex is made from tool steel that is
hardened and tempered. The T is stainless.
